Sandi Toksvig's Top Ten Unsung Heroines

Sandi Toksvig, probably best known as a broadcaster and journalist, is also a well established author. One of my favourites is her children's book, published in 2005, Hitler's CanaryThis was based on her family's experiences in Denmark under Nazi rule. Her most recent book, Girls Are Best, is fun look at the achievements of women down the ages. Sandi says:

"History is full of fabulous females who have been systematically ignored, forgotten or simply written out of the records. They're not all saints, they're not all geniuses, but they do deserve remembering."
